A Room In Progress

I haven’t really made anything else since my unfortunate glue gun incident with the wreath that I made for my Annie’s room and even though her room isn’t finished yet, I couldn’t wait to share this lamp revamp (my favorite so far)!

It went from having a green base with a white shade to this and that $.25 picture frame that went from blue with all sorts of different colors to a clean, fresh white. Then, I covered the lamp shade in streamer paper rosettes.

I think I’ll want the little Miss’ room for myself by the time I’m done with it!! Lol! πŸ˜‰ I’ll share the completed room as soon as I decided that I am done with it!! ((:

Good night, world!! [:

Lucky Heart

This has been one of my favorite before and after projects so far! This cutey is another one of my thrifty under $1 finds.

But it was too flashy for me so I decided to paint it off white and sanded it until it turned into this and I loooove it!!!

I had already posted about all the neat little things that I’ve made with recycled book pages and the little heart inside this frame was one of them.

I intended to put a picture of Joe and me in this frame to have on my night stand but I liked my little heart so much that I decided to give it its own display frame! (:

I’m Officially In Love With White Spray Paint!

Today was a day full of mixed emotions. Father’s day usually is for me but this one was especially difficult for reasons I’d rather not discuss but I hope everyone had a wonderful fathers day!

To keep my mind occupied I made over this little jewelry box that I found [yes, you guessed it] at a thrift shop for only $.75!!

I needed something to store small things on my desk so it currently sits by my computer at home and looking at it makes me as happy as a bird with a french fry!! πŸ˜‰

And now I will take myself to bed because I’m sure tomorrow will be a very busy day!!

Good night, everyone!! ((:

I Love Birds, a Little Too Much! (;

After I made my square coffee filter wreath, I liked it so much that I decided to make one for the office at work and I love this one far more because it is way bigger than the one I have at home!! [: We recently re-did the office in black with neutral colors so this fits in perfectly with everything else. The wreath looks a bit uneven but I think it adds to the character of it so I didn’t care to even it out and left it just the way it turned out.

I initially intended to add only one birdy to it but it looked so lonesome that I decided to give it a friend and so I included another one!!! πŸ˜‰

Did I already say how much I love, love coffee filters?!! I love their color, their texture and their flexibility to be used in almost anything that I want to [not to mention how inexpensive they are, too]!! (:

Ahhh… I just can’t emphasize enough how much I love those things!! ((:

Distressed Frames

My son and Joe think I should be banned from all thrift shops because I keep purchasing junk to re-make!! πŸ˜‰ I paid less than $2 for both of these a few weeks ago. As soon as I saw them, I had a perfect plan for them!

And this is what I decided to do with them!!

The first one didn’t have any hanging hardware on it but I didn’t need to install any on it because it looks perfect just sitting on my night stand [behind one of my other thrifty finds-my precious music box-which I paid $1.75 for and actually still plays music]!! (:

But my favorite has got to be this one!! I made those flowers from my nifty coffee filters and left over branches from my previous branch project and there you have it hanging above my bed now!!

My distressing doesn’t look as good as I’d like and it doesn’t show on the pics too well but I’m getting better at it, promise!! Lol!!

Hope you guys are enjoying your weekend!! Good night, everyone!! ((:

Oh, Recycled Books, How I Love Thee!! ;]

I have completely fallen in love with making pretty things out of recycled book pages!! I cannot get enough of it! >.<

I looked up some origami hearts and made this pretty garland to hang above in my computer space!!

But it doesn't stop there, I had these shadow box {sort of} frames and made these to put in them!!

And this,,,

I think they are adorable!! What can I say? I made them!! πŸ˜‰

I have other stuff I’ve made but these are the only ones I’ve got pics of for now and I’m too tired {or too lazy} to pull my camera out and take some more right now.(:

Thanks for stopping by!! Have a great night, everyone!!

My First Coffee Filter Wreath

I’ve been seeing all sorts of beautiful coffee filter wreaths in blogland and I love them all so much that I decided to give it a shot at making my own. I wanted my wreath to be square [just bcs that’s how I roll! Lol] so I used an old 8X10 picture frame I had as the base, added a pretty butterly {bcs I’m obsessed with them right now} and voila there’s my end result!! I might be a bit biased but I am absolutely looooving my wreath [AND all the creative uses for coffee filters that I’ve discovered]!!

Materials used: old square picture frame, coffee filters, glue sticks, glue gun, recycled book pages [for the butterfly], and ribbon.

I already had all of my materials around the house but if you want to make your own and you have to purchase all of your materials, the estimated cost would be about $6 if you purchase everything at the dollar store [that’s where I’d get them if I wouldn’t have had them already ;)].

Thanks for stopping by! Have a great day, everyone!!!

My Pretty Branches

When I say I’ve been busy lately, I mean it! Lol! I have been having so much fun crafting with coffee filters, recycled books and spray paint. I have tons of projects I’ve completed but I havent had a chance to post any of them bcs I have so many ideas in my head right now that by the time I’m done with one thing I’m super excited to start the next one! >.<

I had been wanting to do a project with tree branches for a while but I just never found the perfect ones until today. I was riding with my brother earlier and I pulled over on the side of the road to snatch these pretty things and brought them home with me! I think my brother just about jumped out of the car from the embarrassement but I was determined to get my branches! Lol! AND I must say that it was worth it bcs I am totally in love with my final product!!! ((: Check it out!

I am really bad about taking before pics but they were just regular dried tree branches and I spray painted them black and made those tiny flowers out of coffee filter remnants that I had left over from another project that I’m working on.

I tried to get a close up but it’s really hard to see the details because they are white but my favorite has got to be the fluttering butterfly made from a recycled book page that I added to it.

I love, love how this little project turned out!!

Here’s a close up of her!! Isn’t she just gorgeous?!! ((: Hope you guys like it as much as I do!! πŸ˜‰ Now, I’m off to try and do some cleaning! I’ll try to post some of my other goodies soon!!

Thanks for stopping by!

Book Page Flower Wreath

This has been one of my most time consuming projects so far but, as with everything else that I’ve made, I’m pretty pleased with how it turned out. πŸ˜‰

I first saw a similar wreath on a crafts website but it was about $45 and as much as I loved it, I was not about to dish out that much for it. I didn’t save a picture of it or the url for the page so I couldn’t find it anymore until recently when I saw one exactly like it posted on a blogger’s page and this time I saved the picture and made my wreath before procrastination set in!! Lol!

It took about 6hrs to make it, a wreath, 3 books, a wide ribbon [for hanging the wreath], lots of hot glue and lots of cutting and paper rolling! Thank goodness for my princess bcs she helped me cut the circles to make the flowers so that helped me tremedously [she is definitely a crafter in the making ;)]!!

Happy Sunday, you guys!! ((:
